History
Probably C17 rebuilding incorporating parts of C16 hall house, with C18 refronting in brick. Once four cottages with back to back chimneys. Now two premises. Restored circa 1990.
Exterior
Two storeys plus attics, Llanfyllin brick front with stringcourse between first and second storeys. Slate roof, central square chimney in brick, rectangular brick chimney to L. Four gabled dormers, timber-framed (brick nogged) with curved struts over collars, tripartite casement glazing, C19 bargeboards and pinnacles, slate hung to sides. On first floor, six bays; third bay from L blocked window, other bays have casement windows under wooden lintels (L window narrower than others). On ground floor, second and fifth bays are doorways with segmentally arched heads, wooden door frames, boarded doors. Left bay has broad segmental archway with glazing infill. Other bays have segmentally arched windows (blocked in third bay, six-pane hornless glazing to others). Gable end to L has projecting chimney, stone base. Twelve pane sash window to each side on first floor. On ground floor rectangular casement window to each side of stack.
Interior
Ground floor of L premises has large fireplace and exposed timber-framed partitions. First floor rear said to have heavy timber-framing with indications of former windbraces; and S gable to have decorative lattice framing in apex.
