History
By long tradition held to be spring where St Myllin baptised converted pagans.
St Myllin traditionally believed to be first in Britain to baptise by immersion in C6. Present well housing of uncertain date.
Exterior
Set in hillside. Rubble arch to well housing with low wall above. Rubble lining to well. Rubble revetment wall to L. Similar wall to R following convex curve.
Restoration of the well in late 1980's won The Prince of Wales 1987 award.
Reason for designation
Included for historic interest.
