History
Probably C18, but still very much in the manner of a C17 cottage.  

Exterior
Roughcast and painted, probably over rubblestone, with a Welsh slate roof. Double depth central entry plan. One-and-a-half storeys, two windows. Central plank door flanked by small 2 + 4 pane casement on the left and an early C19 8 over 8 pane sash on the right. Steeply pitched roof with two gabled dormers with 2 + 2 casements and rebuilt red brick stack on left gable. SIngle storey rear wing.  

Interior
Interior not inspected at resurvey.  

Reason for designation
Included for its special interest as part of a group of well preserved historic buildings at the entrance to Abergavenny Castle.
