Full Report for Listed Buildings

The list description is not intended to be a complete inventory of what is listed: it is principally intended to aid identification. By law, the definition of a listed building includes the entire building (i) and any structure or object that is fixed to the said building and ancillary to it and (ii) any other structure or object that forms part of the land and has done so since before 1 July 1948, and was within the curtilage of the building, and ancillary to it, on the date on which said building was first included in the list, or on 1 January 1969, whichever was later.

History
Formerly 2 properties. Probably late C18 - early C19, with alterations to ground floor shop fronts.

Exterior
Late Georgian style. Rendered and lined under a slate roof; brick end stack to L, brick ridge stack offset to R, at junction of 14 and 14a. Small shop front to R, with door and window in a continuous raised surround: C20 glazed door to L under a segmental head with keystone,12-pane horned sash to R. The 1st floor has 12-pane horned sashes with flat heads and stone sills; aligned to attic storey, 6-pane horned sashes with stone sills immediately under the eaves. To rear, added 2-storey flat-roofed block, probably mid-late C20. No 14a is a 2-storey and 2-window range. Large inserted shop window to ground floor, late C20 but may replace an earlier one. Upper storey has 12-pane hornless sash windows under segmental heads. Large catslide lean-to to rear with late C20 fenestration. Rear elevation, visible to far L, is of red brick.
