Probably c1826 when the Newtown to Builth Wells Turnpike opened. Shown on the 1889 Ordnance Survey.
Exterior
A round-headed freestone mile marker (possibly) re-set on a stone base. It is painted white with black-painted carved letters inscribed 'Builth 8 Miles' and 'Newtown 26'.
Reason for designation
Listed for its special historic interest as one of a series of well-preserved milestones on the A483.
