Exterior
ornate stone and timber lych-gate with steep bell-cast hipped plain-tiled roof and lead ridge with wooden cross finial. Battered base walls each side, of rock-faced rubble with red sandstone ashlar quoins and coping, the walls returned inwards each end to frame stone benches within. North side carved stone plaque 'This lych-gate was erected to commemorate the rebuilding of the parish church by Arthur D Davies 1911'. West front paired timber gates. Very ornate timber-framed upper part with intricate timber tracery to heads of open panels and to front spandrels. 1-4-1 panels each side and single panel to front each side of main entry which has big arched braces and traceried spandrel panels. Posts carry carved brackets to rafter undersides. Bell-cast roof has ornately carved west front dormer gable with bargeboards and traceried pierced 3-light triangular opening. Roof within lych-gate has carved angel heads in angles under curved brackets up to false ridge with diagonally set king posts up to true ridge above. Tracery in spandrel spaces and between ridges.
