The last two houses at S end of street, below castle grounds.
Exterior
Early to mid C19 pair of single storey rubble stone cottages with slate roofs, stone ridge stack and S end stack. Each cottage is double-fronted with cambered stone heads to centre doors and flanking windows. Cottage left has sashes with marginal glazing bars and 5-panel door, three panels fielded. Cottage to right has renewed 12-pane sashes and ledged door. Slate sills.
Reason for designation
Amongst the best surviving examples of single-storey traditional cottages in the town centre.
