Location
Situated on hillside some 70m W of footbridge N of Caerbwdy Bay.
History
Kiln is said to have been built by 1815, and to stand on land owned by Bishops of Saint David's.
Scheduled Ancient Monument Pe 429.
Exterior
Late C18 or early C19 unusually large square limekiln built into bank by footpath. Approx 7m square, purple Caerbwdy rubble stone mixed with brown and grey boulders. High kiln-eyes of Dewisland type, with inward sloping heads to stone lintels. Open but overgrown crucible.
