Location
Prominent position occupying north west corner of crossroads in centre of Llanymynech. Gable end to A483 on right.
Exterior
Painted brick on stone foundations, saw-tooth and over-sailing eaves courses, slate roof, raised gable ends. Two storeys with attic dormers and cellar, single pile with original rear wing flanking roadside. Three flush brick gable stacks, right hand one original. Three windows, on the ground floor large paned sashes and, to the right of the door, a window set in the brick blocking of a former C19 shop front. First floor, timber cross-windows under cambered heads, the lower sections have sliding sashes hung behind the mullion. Slate-hung hipped dormers with modern glazing. Front door to right of centre, four panels, overlight, plain doorcase cornice over carved brackets, and above, a plain flat hood on iron braces - the hood carried over the former shop front on curved iron brackets. East roadside elevation has two blind panels and one cross window under cambered heads and on lower right a wide three-light casement under cambered head.
Interior
Central staircase hall, stairs with column-on-vase turned balusters, chamfered square newel and moulded handrail; stairs to cellar under. Cellar with old ovens in situ, cobbled floor, half-timbered partitions and plain squared beams. Kitchen in rear wing has narrow chamfered exposed beam with scroll stops and vertically battened plank door with spear-ended strap hinges hung on gudgeon pins. First floor rooms have cupboards with two panel doors and H-hinges and beaded boxed beams.
