Built in 1814 by Thomas Penson the younger, completing the work of Thomas Penson, who was dismissed after the collapse of his first design for a single-arched bridge on this site, itself replacing an earlier structure.

Exterior
Red sandstone ashlar bridge with 2 high segmental arches divided be knelled cutwaters at each side. Rusticated voussoirs to arches, with moulded string course above defining the base of the stepped parapet. Buttressed retaining wall supports the road-bed across the field to the east: coursed and squared rubble with ashlar parapet.

Interior

Reason for designation
An elegantly designed example of bridge construction.
