History
Part of depot built by Trinity House circa 1870 for maintenance of coastal lights.
Exterior
Workshop; rendered walls (shallow plinth), asphalted roof with ridge light. Side elevations of 5 bays, segmental-headed blind panelling above small-pane windows with segmental heads. Gable ends had kneelers; to sea (NW) large camber-headed doorway flanked by windows; above blind panelling and central round window with gabled architrave. Gable end to land (SE) has segmental-headed panelling (round window to centre of gable), below this central doorway (made smaller) flanked by segmental-headed windows.
Reason for designation
Listed for special interest within a scarce group of nautical workshops.
Group value with adjacent listed buildings in enclosure.
