History
Late C17 one-and-a-half storeyed end chimney house, raised and altered second-quarter C19; to this, latter phase belong an adjoining stable and byre range to the E and a cross-range to the rear. The house is said to have formerly been a coaching inn.

Exterior
2-storey limewashed rubble farmhouse with undulating slate roof and end stone chimney stacks. 3-window front with C19, slightly-recessed 9-pane and 12-pane sash windows and a near-central boarded door with overlight; timber lintels. Blank right hand gable end where the original, lower roof-line is discernable. The rear has a casement window and a blocked staircase window beside a lower cross-range, with a larger small-pane casement on its west side and boarded doors on the east side; blue-brick chimney stack on cross-range gable end. Stepped down to left is a stable with square loft-window opening over a slatted and 6-pane stable window and an offset boarded door with cambered voussoir head. Stepped down further to east is the rubble byre with undulating slate roof; split-boarded barn doors to centre flanked by cambered-arch doorway to cowhouse to left and slit ventilator to right; later lean-to at far left end. At the rear of these stepped down ranges are two square-headed cowhouse doorways to the byre with slate lintels and outside steps to the stable loft.

Interior
Plain C19 central staircase and simply-chamfered ceiling beams to former parlour and hall. Cellar below parlour (to right). The byre has simple C19 timber trusses and the stable has three stalls retaining wooden furnishings.

Reason for designation
Prominently located house with C17 origins and well-preserved earlier C19 character. Group value with St Ddoged's Parish Church.
