History
1936 bandstand in painted cast-iron on brick base with red tile roof.
Exterior
Octagonal brick base with brick steps up, eight slim columns with capitals and each with three traceried brackets to flat boarded roof. Every second column also acts as a downpipe and is connected to cast-iron gutter. Iron railings between columns on five sides, gate on SW side, the three front (NE) sides left open. Roof has red terracotta ridges and slim finial. An inscription on the gate records the bandstand being a memorial to Evan Evans, Chemist.
Reason for designation
A good example of an inter-war bandstand which is historically associated with an eminent local entrepreneur.
