History
Built as part of Gilbert Scott's restoration of the church between 1868-1870.
Exterior
Stone base supporting timberwork. Gables at either side have scallopped barge-boards and are jettied out on braces sprung from corbels. 4 scissor-braced collar trusses inside.
Reason for designation
A significant component of Scott's restoration of the church, the lych-gate illustrates gothic revival principals, both in its symbolic importance and in its robustly crafted detail.
