The chapel was formed from a garden building of mid C18 date which may have been designed by John Evans and James Wyatt. The building was converted in c1876 by Benjamin Ferrey who added an aisle and a vestry to the rear as part of the work. Various furnishings, some probably from the former chapel, were re-used in the interior.  

Italian Renaissance style private chapel. Sandstone ashlar, brick and plaster, slate roof with red ridge tiles, an iron crucifix finial to right hand end, decorative iron finial to other end. 5 bays divided by pilasters which are paired at each end. Moulded cornice and parapet. The bays each have a 2-light window of Italianate biforate type and there is an entrance in the end bay on the left hand side beneath an overlight of similar design. Right hand return is roughly plastered between the pilasters and a low vestry lit by round window with quatrefoil tracery is attached. Rear elevation between existing buildings of C18 character has an entrance and a 2-light mullioned window with arched heads. Attached to the left and to the rear are estate buildings of C18 character retaining some contemporary external features.  

Nave and north aisle have barrel vault roof with moulded plaster ribs. The aisle arcade appears to be C18 work supported by two later square section columns. Furnishings: There are a number of items of C18 date including a pedimented Corinthian aedecule used as a reredos and a door in shouldered architrave in north wall of aisle. Some walls have oak panelled dado possibly of late C17 date. Doors to vestry have Williams-Wynn arms and the date 1877 painted on them.  

Listed as the family chapel and former garden building and for historical associations with the Wynnstay Estate. Group value with Wynnstay Hall and associated listed items.
