Very prominent barn range lying 30 yards across road to south west of Newhouse and historically belonging to it.

Probably C19. Five-bay barn with cowhouse at south end. Rubble stone with slit vents, tall double doors to threshing bay, iron roof, round voussoir opening in north gable. Three boarded doors to cowhouse.
Reason for designation
Included as a fine example of a largely unaltered regional barn with a very prominent location in Painscastle.
