Location
Located 200m SW of Howel-Sele lodge at the foot of deer park hill at Nannau; immediately N of the keeper's lodge and walled kitchen garden.
Exterior
Large, imposing arch in Tudor style; built by Sir Robert Williames Vaughan of Nannau, Bart., in 1828 as an estate feature at the foot of the deer park and formerly serving a subsidiary drive to the house. Of coursed rubble with slate capping and dressed voussoirs. Wide Tudor arch with gabled parapet; overlapping capping stones. Stepped flush buttressing to either side. Above the arch on both sides, an inscribed plaque bearing the date 1828 and the initials RW V AM.
Reason for designation
An imposing early C19 arch and landscape feature on the former Nannau estate.
