Location
Situated at the end of the High Street crossing the River Dee.
History
The bridge has medieval origins; a notable restoration took place in 1658 and at one time the bridge bore this date.
Exterior
The arches are principally of red sandstone, some areas of coursed rubble, some of more finely dressed stone; the parapet and cutwaters mainly of yellow sandstone. Cambered bridge with unequal elliptical stepped arches, full height splayed cutwaters with refuges at the top. The parapet is of large dressed slabs.
Reason for designation
Listed grade I as an impressive bridge of medieval origins but largely C17 work. Group value with the War Memorial and the Church of St Dunawd.
