History: With No 20, forms part of a block of 3 houses, built as a single development by the Powis Estate c1740, but incorporating earlier fabric. Previously known as Plas Goch.
Exterior: Brick, with steep slate roof with gable end stacks. 2 storeys, 4-window range. Ground floor displays evidence of an earlier structure, with exposed sill beam, corner post and rail. Paired central doorways in early C19 architrave, with cusped panelling in entablature, and shallow cornice hood; 6-panelled doors up steps with central plain cast iron railings. Flanking windows are 16-pane sashes, and the upper windows are flush-framed 12-pane sashes with cambered brick heads and plain sill band. 2x2-light dormer windows in the roof, with shallow leaded roofs. Rear elevation has a row of tall camber-headed windows (cast-iron casement windows with transoms).
A fine example of early C18 urban building, of particular significance as it forms part of a larger development and representing the reconstruction of an earlier building.
