Built into the bank above the small stream which feeds Garden Pool, SW of the castle

History: The ice house is thought to have been constructed in the early C19, and was restored in the 1980's.
Description: Brick, domed above ground, with round-arched short passage entry, and deep ovoid chamber.
An exceptionally well-preserved example of an ice house and a significant relic of the domestic economy of the castle.
