Located on grass verge N side of the A458 between Llanerfyl and Llangadfan 0.5km E of the Community boundary. Description: Possibly dating from early C19, a flat, upright slab of shale, much of which is buried. Previously limewashed, with deeply chamfered corners and a flat top. A carved inscription on the front face reads: Machynlleth 23 Miles Canoffice 0 Llanfair (partially buried) Listed as a comparatively well preserved example of an early C19 milestone, providing evidence for turnpiking.
