History
The building appears to have been built for domestic use, and may be the original keeper's accommodation. If so, it was built by Joseph Nelson in 1809.

Exterior
Render over rubble stone with slate roof. Single storeyed, with doorway against axial chimney stack in S wall. Additional doorway (probably a later insertion) in the E gable end, alongside a truncated chimney. 3 small windows in S elevation, 2 boarded over, the other with small panes.

Interior

Reason for designation
An important part of the whole context of South Stack Lighthouse, and of particular interest as a possible early keeper's cottage.
