A memorial to the fallen of the parish of Llanddewi Velfrey in the 1914-18 war. It is reputed to be the first in Pembrokeshire, and was unveiled by Sir Wilfrid Lewis in 1920.
Exterior
A stone memorial standing on a plinth and a base of two steps. It is in the form of a Celtic cross. The design is clearly based on the Carew Cross, with interlace on face of head and shaft, and the arms of the cross-head overlapping the ring. The main inscription on S face records seven names between panels of interlace design. The lettering is of a fine quality of carving. The rear is plain apart from a verse of Scripture.
Reason for designation
Listed as a striking example of a memorial to the Great War, in Celtic Revival style.
