History
An C18 arched gateway to the churchyard of St Caradoc. It appears in de Cort's drawing of Lawrenny Hall dated 1790.
Exterior
An arched gateway with twin pyramids of brickwork. Surmounting pilasters to either
side of the archway. The arch coping is also of brickwork, but the remainder of the structure is of stone. The gateway is still very much as shown in de Cort's drawing. The drawing appears to indicate that the finials were then more acutely pointed, but this may be no more than artistic licence. The small timber gates are modern, replacing gates the full size of the opening.
Reason for designation
Listed as a very unusual survival of a fine C18 churchyard gateway.
