Location
Situated some 150m S of A487 at Newgale, on E side of minor coast road.
History
Early to mid C19 coastal lime-kiln, not apparently marked on 1837 Roch Tithe Map.
Exterior
Circular fronted lime-kiln, in rubble stone, built into bank. A broad curved triangular opening to N and S, stone vaulted within and diminishing down to furnace opening. Openings are some 2.5 m high. Flat top with infilled crucible.
Reason for designation
A well-preserved lime-kiln of regional character, an important relic of the coastal lime trade.
