Location
Situated on bank of stream some 150m WSW of Castell farmhouse, which is some 700m N of Graianrhyd on the road to Eryrys.
History
Mine-chimney associated with former lead-mine, presumably mid C19. Possibly the Castell engine shaft worked as part of the Nant and Bog mines by the Westminster Mines up to the 1850s, or the Bog East trial shaft.
Exterior
Lead-mine chimney, limestone rubble, circular and tapering, some 7m high.
Reason for designation
Included as a relatively rare surviving structure of the regionally important lead-mining industry.
