The font is placed at the topmost point of the rock garden, behind the Hawk House, in the E gardens of Chirk Castle.

History
The font is of the C14, and is said to have been brought to Chirk Castle from Valle Crucis Abbey in the late C19, and set up in the rock garden.
Exterior
The font is of stone, octagonal, tapering down to a short circular stem and ovolo basal ring. It is mounted on circular plinth of 2 steps.
Reason for designation
Included as an item of archaeological interest, and an embellishment to the rock gardens created at Chirk Castle on the slope of the enhanced mound on the E axis of the castle.
