Situated in the centre of Trap village, just E of the bridge.
History
Late C19 house and Post Office apparently built as dwelling for blacksmith. Not marked on 1841 Tithe Map.
Exterior
House and Post Office, rubble stone with yellow brick dressings, slate roof and three rendered brick stacks. Two storeys, one-window range left, 3-window range right with centre door and overlight, to Post Office. Post-box inset to left of door, with George V crown. Yellow-brick surrounds to cambered-headed windows, yellow-brick head to door, 4-pane sashes.
Single storey rendered garage addition to right with slate roof.
Interior
Slate flag floors, post-office to left of hall.
Reason for designation
Included as a complete example of a small rural post office, the most prominent building in the centre of Trap.
