Location
The bridge carries the minor road running S from Rhos-fawr to Abererch over the Afon Ddwyryd.
History
The bridge was probably built in the mid C19 on a realignment of the road, which makes a sharp angle to approach the river squarely.
Exterior
The bridge consists of a single elliptical arch of well formed rubble voussoirs set flush with the spandrels, which rise to a horizontal strong course and a high parapet to the road. At each end tapered and battered piers capped with square chamfered capstones. The arch spans 3.6m and rises c1.3m above the water. The carriageway is 4.6m wide between the 46cm wide parapets.
Reason for designation
Included as a well preserved example of a mid C19 bridge.
