Location
Located towards the south-western boundary of the community within the Clocaenog forest; spanning the Nant Nilig some 200m SE of Nilig and carrying the main forest road.
History
Early clapper bridge carrying the main E-W road through the forest; probably of C18 date in its present form, though perhaps with earlier origins.
Exterior
Two-span clapper bridge of rubble construction, with an irregular rubble platform projecting on the eastern downstream side. Central rubble piers to both sides, that to the upstream side with an irregular rubble cutwater. Flat carriageway with gently-curving parapets; boulder copings.
Reason for designation
Listed for its special interest as a vernacular clapper bridge of probable C17 or C18 origin.
