Located approximately 1km SE of Cyffylliog village, SW of Fachlwyd Hall; accessed via a metalled track which runs NW from a lane leading S from an unclassified road which itself runs W-E from Cyffylliog to Bont-Uchel.

First-half C17, 2-storey end-chimney farmhouse, altered and extended in 1831; a date plaque with the initials I and E O (for Owen, of Fachlwyd hall) appears above the entrance of the C19 additional block. At this time the interior partition between the former hall and parlour sections of the primary house effectively became the division between the house proper and the wash house/brewhouse, which the hall section now became.  

L-shaped farmhouse consisting of a primary 2-storey range with a taller additional block adjoining to the L. Of rubble construction with renewed slate roofs; plain rubble stacks, that to the primary section an end-chimney (to the R gable) and that to the additional block a central stack. The earlier range has two entrances, that to the L, the main entrance, with an early C20 slated canopy porch; boarded doors with pegged door frames, the main entrance with a 5-pane rectangular overlight. Both doorways have segmental heads with dressed limestone voussoirs. Flanking the main entrance are windows with similar heads and 2-light C20 wooden casements; to the far R is a further, similar window. Aligned with these are three windows under the eaves, that to the R with glazing as before, the remaining two with early C20 4-pane casements. External stone-stepped access to the R gable end, with segmental first-floor (open) entrance. Long outshut to the rear (an addition of c. 1831) with 2x9-pane sashes. The taller, additional block has a symmetrical 2-window facade facing S. Central entrance with cambered head and C20 part-glazed door; modern open porch (under construction at the time of inspection, 1/99). Above this is a slate date plaque with the incised initials E.I. O (for Owen), and the date 1831. C20 4-pane sashes to the ground floor, cambered as before, and early C20 four-pane casements to the first floor, under the eaves. The W gable end is rendered and has large modern windows to both floors.  

The primary range has an ingle-nook fireplace with chamfered bressummer to the right-hand chamber of the ground floor (former hall), together with a wide stopped-chamfered main beam and some surviving stopped-chamfered ceiling joists; the remainder are C20 replacements. Slate-flagged floor. The C19 main entrance (to L) gives access to the main part of the house, with plain stair to a narrow entrance hall and main rooms off to L.  

Listed for its special interest as a dated late Georgian farmhouse with C17 core, retaining good external character.
