History
Early C18 chest tomb.
Exterior
Rectangular sandstone chest tomb with moulded tombstone; 3 relief-carved roundels to each of the long sides, with single roundels to the ends. The central roundel on the N side has a carved crown with crossed trumpets; the corresponding roundel on the S side has a skull and cross-bones motif. The tombstone bears a memorial inscription to Elizabeth and John Simon, children of John Simon of Glan Clwyd, who died in 1730 and 1738 respectively.
Reason for designation
Included for its special interest as a fine and unusual example of an early C18 chest tomb.
