History
Mid-later C18, remodelled c1900 with the addition (or replacement) of a shopfront, and a rear wing. Grocer's shop in 1920, kept by John Daniel Davies.  

Exterior
Painted roughcast elevations. Slate roof. Plain timber eaves and bargeboards. Broad rubble chimney stack to left gable, much rebuilt in brick. Rear wing has brick ridge chimney to left of centre. Main front faces Pendre. Two bays and two storeys plus attic. Ground floor timber painted shopfront with doorway to left and wide window to right, both flanked by pilasters which terminate in paired brackets. Moulded cornice. Two large lights to shop window, with moulded central glazing bar. First floor has c1900 two-pane sashes in narrow C18 openings, offset to right. Broad centre attic gable with similar sash. Gable end has two-pane sash to each floor to left. Two storey rear wing is slightly stepped forward, with four-panelled door having plain overlight; two-paned sash window above. S elevation of rear wing of three bays. Ground floor has boarded door to left with plain overlight. Off-centre wide two-light window with six-over-one sashes, to right is narrow four-over-one sash window. First floor off-centre window of two lights with six-over -one sashes. To left of wing is small single storey outbuilding, slightly stepped forward, with boarded shutter to window.  

Interior
Front block retains two C18 roof trusses (but rest of roof structure dates from c1900). Shop area retains two wooden columns from early C20 remodelling. Rear ground floor room of front block has fireplace and wooden stair; front block has some broad-boarded doors. The rear of the building dates from c1900 with contemporary doors and fireplaces.  

Reason for designation
Listed for special interest of C18 front block which retains part of original roof structure and window openings.
