In the centre of Mathern village about 50m north east of the Church of St Tewdric.

History
A probably late C19 lych-gate with no inscription.
Exterior
A traditional lych-gate, constructed of stone and oak with a tiled roof. The side walls are of coursed squared white limestone rubble with red sandstone ashlar to the ends and coping. These walls each carry an oak plate supporting three posts carrying arch braced collar beams. The collars are cranked and brattished and carry king-posts which support the steeply pitched roof, which has elaborately carved bargeboards and serrated ridge tiles.
Reason for designation
Included as a well designed and constructed lych-gate having group value with the important nearby Church of St Tewdric.
