About 250m south of Wyelands on the west side of Mathern Road.
History
These gates and railings are in the early C19 manner and are presumably contemporary with Wyelands house built in 1819. They are much plainer in style than Mathern Lodge which adjoins them. They may however be a later reconstruction.
Exterior
Constructed of coursed squared pinkish limestone with wrought iron gates and railings. Paired wrought iron gates with spike finials, square piers with moulded caps, dwarf wall with stone capping and spear railings joining a further pier on the left and Mathern Lodge (qv) on the right.
Reason for designation
Included as a well preserved estate gateway for an early C19 country house, and for its group value with the other listed buildings at Wyelands,
