Headstone in commemoration of Ann Morgan and her parents John and Ann Morgan, c1835.
Exterior
Stone headstone, carved top panel in relief of a recumbent figure tightly clasping a draped urn with oak tree background, the perspective and treatment of the subject rustic. Two low relief arched panels below with snake-entwined staff between. Left plaque to Ann Morgan died 1835 aged 20, and right plaque to her parents Ann d 1840 and John d 1852. Inscribed encomia to each in tiny letters.
Reason for designation
Included as an exceptional piece of vernacular stone carving illustrating the quality and ambition of rustic stone carvers in the early C19.
