History
K6 type telephone box to the standard design of Giles Gilbert Scott. Design introduced by GPO in 1936. This example dates from the reign of King George VI. Foundry plate not visible.
Exterior
Square kiosk of cast iron construction with timber door. Domed roof with four lunettes containing embossed crowns over red lettered opals and ventilation slits. Raised surrounds with marginal bars to horizontal glazing with many panes. Blank rear, moulded plinth.
Reason for designation
A K6 call box in a prominent location in the centre of Penrhos. Group value with Penrhos Church and Churchyard lych gate.
