About 50m NW of Troy House, on the E side of the farm track leading to Troy House Farm.
History
Probably C18; altered.
Exterior
A pair of tall square gate piers of banded sandstone ashlar, with cornices and shallow pyramidal tops, furnished with a pair of full-height wrought-iron gates. These consist of 2 unequal tiers of enriched bar railings separated by a band of foliated scrollwork; the lower including slender dog-bars, and the top rail finished with exuberant scrolled cresting.
Attached to the outer side of each pier is a curved dwarf wall which appears to be of C19 character and carries plain bar railings.
Reason for designation
Included for its elegant ornamental character, and group value with Troy House (q.v.).
