Location
Situated at the bottom of The Slade, some 20m past the sewerage works, on the opposite side.
History
Pair of earlier C19 lime-kilns, not apparently marked on 1844 tithe map. Repaired in late C20.
Exterior
Pair of rubble stone rounded large limekilns linked by rubble stone wall. Each with opposed kiln eyes keel-shaped within and with rough stepped stone triangular heads. E side of E kiln is eroded above kiln eye. Circular crucibles.
Reason for designation
Included for special interest as a good surviving pair of kilns, relic of an important coastal trade.
