History
K6 type box designed by Giles Gilbert Scott and first used in 1936. This example could date from post WWII, but, as a George VI one, it may be earlier.
Exterior
Cast iron K6 type telephone call box. Rectangular plan with domed roof. Small paned windows to two sides, timber door also small paned to front, plain iron rear with makers' name on base. Opalescent glass above doors and windows, TELEPHONE. Flat squinches to dome carry George VI crown.
Reason for designation
Included for its special interest as a K6 call-box in a heritage location and having group value with the surrounding listed buildings.
