Location
Spanning the Afon Roe in an upland setting some 2.5Km NW of Llanbedr-y-Cennin; carrying an unclassified road leading from that village ultimately to Roewen.
Exterior
Single-span rubble road bridge, mentioned by Lhwyd (Parochialia) in 1699 as 'y Bont newydh'; the present structure replaces this which was swept away in 1799 and therefore dates presumably from shortly afterwards. Segmental arch with dressed voussoirs slightly inset below a hood of thin stones. The parapets are boulder-coped and splay out slightly at the approaches; cambered roadway.
Reason for designation
An early C19 vernacular single-span road bridge.
