Square stone gate piers of coursed tooled stone have pyramidal caps of small pieces of crushed limestone imitating flint. They span central double cast iron gates, which have spear finials and arched profile. Outer sides, possibly earlier, have dwarf walls and railings with twisted spear finials of early the C19, similar to the forecourt railings of Nos 23-25 Castle Street of the 1830s.
Reason for designation
Listed as C19 gate piers and ironwork in a prominent location that contributes to the historical townscape.
