History
Agricultural buildings, arranged in a U-shaped plan, the S range dated 1763 and all shown on a map of 1764. The N range has been restored and converted for use as accommodation in C20 but may have been the stables for the riding horses and/or servant's quarters.

Exterior
Agricultural range of 3 buildings arranged in a U-shaped plan and with added wing aligned N-S at the SW corner. Built of mortared rubble masonry with large stones as quoins and lintels. Slate roof with stone copings. The N arm of the range has the principal elevation facing the gatehouse and hall to the N; a 4-window range in 2 units, that to R has a central doorway with flanking windows, that to L a 2-window range. The doorway has gritstone dressings with segmental arched head and jambs with roll moulding; the windows are transomed casements. There is a small ridge stack denoting the division between the 2 units. To the rear of the range there is a boarded door offset to L (W) end, with 2-light casement directly over and to R a similar 1st floor window over a transomed casement. The RH (E) unit has 2 boarded doors and a loft door in the gable. At the NE corner a flight of stone steps lead up to the yard to E. The E arm of the 'U' is a former lofted cartshed of 2 bays facing the yard to W; openings now blocked. Built against rising ground with original access to the upper floor from the rear, via 3 boarded doors offset to the L (S) end. The S arm of the range has a ground floor doorway in a rough stone porch that has external stone steps up to the loft door over; the loft doorway in a hipped roof gable dormer that breaks the eaves line. To R is a ground floor window and at far R (W) a doorway with a stone lintel inscribed with the initials and date: V / 17 W C 63 (for William and Catherine Vaughan). At the far R (W) end of the range a wing has been added at a lower level; the entrance is a wide cartshed/garage doorway that faces the yard to N and the range extends to rear (S).
