Location
On a hill top SW of Bryniau Farm, in a commanding position with panoramic views.
History
Traditionally believed to be a medieval look-out tower for Conwy Castle.
Exterior
A round rubble-stone tower of 2-stage height, about 6m high and 3.5m internal diameter. The NE side is missing, but the exposed wall cores suggest the reveals of former ground-floor openings. On the inner side is a ledge, possibly for a 1st floor, although 2 probable beam sockets are slightly higher. The upper stage has what is possibly the reveal of a former window.
Reason for designation
Listed for its special historic interest as a ruined probable medieval watch tower.
