History
Narrow earlier C19 house set back from street line, with broader facade to the sea. No 5 was occupied in 1926 by Miss H Hogarth. No 5 and the single-bay No 6 appear to have built at the same time.  

Exterior
Terraced house, painted stuccoed narrow facade of 4 storeys, 2 bays with parapet. Nine-pane sashes to upper floor, 12-pane elsewhere, and door in ground floor right bay. Slightly projecting timber pedimented doorcase with open pediment on 2 thin columns with entablature blocks over. C20 8-panel door (6 fielded panels in 1977) with blind fanlight. Short area railings to left with wrought iron scrolls. Forecourt enclosed by low wall of grey limestone with similar short railings between rendered piers with pyramid caps, iron gate to right with similar pier to right. Rear to sea is painted stucco, 4 storeys, 2 bays with sashes, 9-pane to upper floor, 12-pane to 2nd floor, 24-pane to first floor and French windows with top lights to ground floor. Parapet line is continuous with No 4 to left.
