Location
At entrance to Llangedwyn Hall from the B4396, opposite St Cedwyn's Church.
History
Probably early C18, from the time of acquisition of Llangedwyn Hall by Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, 3rd Baronet, and the laying out of the avenue and ornamental gardens.
Exterior
A pair of rusticated yellow stone gatepiers about 3 m high, with moulded base, cornice and ball finials. Pair of simple wrought-iron gates with dog bars and a wicket gate in each (now closed); ornamental overthrow with crest (restored). The original walls or railings at each side of the gateway have been lost and replaced by low modern brick walls.
Reason for designation
A fine C18 entrance feature integral to the formal gardens layout at Llangedwyn Hall.
