Stone Wall to NE of Castle Hotel which faces River Honddu, including Stone Outbuilding at N end
Location
Between Castle Hotel and Castle Bridge.
History
The outbuilding is probably late C18 or early C19, and the wall in its present form C19. There were formerly outbuildings against the wall, and at right angles to N. Modern hotel bedrooms have been built behind the wall.
Exterior
Stone wall with crenellations, stepped buttresses and loops. At N end, a stone outbuilding with slate roof.
Modern hotel bedroom block behind wall not included.
Reason for designation
Included for Group Value with Castle Hotel, and remains of Great Hall of Brecon Castle
