Struet end of steps begins opposite Priory Bridge.
History
The street is an ancient one, and is named after King Charles the First who is said to have passed this way during the Civil War. The present surface probably dates from the C19.
Exterior
Old pathway now made up of 37 steps with surface of probably C19 cobbled setts with blocks of stone at the edge of each step.
Reason for designation
Picturesque and unusual cobbled steps and pathway. Group Value with Nos 1 & 2 King Street, and listed pavement and buildings at foot of steps in the Struet.
