History
A County Bridge built by Thomas Penson, County Surveyor, in 1845. The Rev. G Howell, rector of Llangadfan, placed coins under the bridge abutments.

Exterior
A single-arch bridge of elliptical form, in carefully dressed regular masonry, with a span of about 15 m. Enlarged keystone each side, hanging from a string course at the base of the parapet. The parapets are in masonry with a furrowed finish. Carriageway about four m wide with parapets about 900 mm high, turned out at corners.

Interior

Reason for designation
The bridge is a fine example of the work of the architect and engineer Thomas Penson (County Surveyor of Montgomeryshire from 1820 to 1859), the detailing characteristic of his work.
