On the south bank of the River Vyrnwy about 200 m below the dam, beside a public path.

History
A water gauge house on the weir beneath the Vyrnwy dam, part of the original reservoir works.
Exterior
A timber-framed apparatus house about 2 m by 3 m, with a tile roof. Timber frame painted brown with white panels. Two-light mullion and transom windows on all four faces; boarded door in addition on the south face. The framing stands on two courses of red plinth bricks and a rock-faced slate base.
Reason for designation
A small building forming part of the original Vyrnwy Dam works, in a picturesque style reflecting the architecture of the new Llanwddyn village.
